  • A visit to the castle is a must, and well worth the walk up. The restoration work is amazing. The views are splendid. When I visited there was also an art exhibition. And it is all absolutely free
  • The aragonese Castle of Agropoli has a triangular structure that makes it special. Immaculately maintained, can be reached by car along a side street on the rear, or-as we did-on foot, climbing the stairs leading to the old town of the city, past the old port of Agropoli and climb more stairs. This is a somewhat tiring, really, but still recommend as the view which can be seen across the city is beautiful. The castle is clean, well placed, with wide panoramic terraces where in summer make every night a free cultural event. We have found the exposure of a painter in the room used at presentations, a photo exhibition in the old prison cells and a video installation in which Luisa Sanfelice tells the story of Agropoli and the castle that belonged to his family in the 800. Inside there is also a small shop where you can buy some souvenirs souvenir made by a local craftsman. We loved it, is a timeless place, full of charm and history. In addition, there are also up there cafes and quaint. Go see it!

  • The gorgeous view at 360° and the Gulf is the prize for the walk to reach it. Some will arrive by car but doesn't have the same charm that get there after climbing staircases and walked the narrow streets of the old town. If you switch from Agropoli is definitely worth the walk to get there.
