Explore the remnants of the ancient Greek culture at Valley of the Temples (Valle dei Templi), which has been on the World Heritage list since 1997. This national monument, one of Sicily's main tourist attractions, contains the remains of seven Greek temples, all built in the Doric style. Most of the ancient temples here were excavated and restored during the middle of the 19th century under the direction of archaeologist Domenico Antonio Lo Faso Pietrasanta. The site includes parts of tombs and catacombs from the fourth century. Several Roman and Byzantine necropolises lie in an area used for burial purposes since ancient times.   • And always a pleasure to see these places that don't ever get tired and that remind us of our past and make us ask how did our ancestors to think and realize certain works. Then we found some guides very prepared illustrating various works with special compartment at times. To be redone each time you switch

  • This is a beauty Greek temple in Italy! You will feel the atmosphere like you are in a Greece. It is located in a hill so it can be viewed from all of Agrigento city. I am from Indonesia and I really love this place. Wonderful!
