Inspirock Rating:
4.8/5 based on 360+ reviews on the web
A highlight in the Valley of Temples, the partially restored ruins of Tempio di Giunone perch on top of a hill overlooking Agrigento. Built in honor of the goddess Hera (wife of Zeus), the temple bears scars on its pillars dating back to the Siege of Akragas in 406 BCE, when it was charred from the fires. The Romans later dedicated the temple to Juno, the wife of Jupiter. Take a guided tour to fully appreciate the area's rich history, and be sure to bring a camera along as the temple's position offers excellent views of the surroundings. Tempio di Giunone is just one of the many highlights you can arrange to see using our world travel planner, Agrigento Edition.

  • The Temple of Juno, built 2500 years ago, rises above the Valley of the temples and is a colonnade and a mass of ruins around. A very beautiful panorama opens on the coast from here!

  • If you hit arrives at the Valley of the Temples, you will see this temple from far. This was the first temple with us that we saw when we went to the Valley of the temples. The environment also speaks to the imagination with its olive groves and views of the Mediterranean Sea is just as beautiful.

  • Lovely and well maintained place. Only thing, use the toilet when you have the chance.
  • Second best preserved temple at this site with a nice view of the surrounding countryside.
  • This one isn't as well preserved but the view of the valley is still breathtaking nevertheless!
  • Very impressive
  • I live there. I spend every day over again from there. I can't help but admire each time these picturesque wonders. I advise you, who can, to see them before day then at night lit. In the evening they have an extraordinary atmosphere warm and engaging.
