  • Should be revised priorities. everything almost well maintained sin that we were left to ourselves we wandered alone without being able to ask anything remaining in the most absolute ignorance. the only people that were present were engaged in making more!!

  • From the living room "good" of Agrigento: via Atenea, through an alley called via Pars, it climbs through narrow streets and steps, very characteristic of the historic centre, to the monumental complex of Santo Spirito. In 1086 Agrigento was conquered by the Normans and the 13th and 14th centuries the Chiaramonte family built an imposing walls and numerous convents and churches. We said: climbing to the upper town, you reach the complesso monumentale di Santo Spirito, founded by Marchisio Prefolio Catcher in the late 13th century. The Church is entered through a large courtyard where, on the right side, there are still traces of the famous wheel of exposed, i.e. children who were abandoned by the poorest people and left in a wooden wheel because the nuns took them with him to make them grow in a more adequate. The Church inside is completely and finely decorated with stucco eighteenth-century by Giacomo Serpotta. That glow as you enter the white stucco always gives you a feeling of Holiness, lightness, you feel transported over human affairs, in short a marvel! The monastery has a large quadrangular cloister on which there are a large portal that leads to the Chapter House, and two mullioned Windows decorated in the same style. The monastery is run by nuns. The curiosity is that the nuns make delicious desserts, almond paste, enriched with Pistachio, whose recipe is secret says.

  • Ok
  • Those who believe that Agrigento only city of temples and the sea, is mistaken. Agrigento is also quite different; Agrigento is churches who hide among the creeks of the alleys of the old city centre, where perfumes of cooked mix to smell the flowers. Agrigento is also complex of Santo Spirito, with its church, typically from portal class with stucco and Chiaramonte serpottiani bas-relief, and with its monastery, the true essence of this place, with its rooms, its Museum and its garden full of history that only this place so far but near the lower Street nightlife can save ... Wonderful ... Even the staff (nuns) is obviously very qualified.

  • Structure of great historical and cultural interest. Today it houses a sculpture by Bernini

  • The experience of buying the cakes in this place is fantastic, but the desserts are not up to the history of the place.
