  • We looked up the Monastery after a long hike, up the stairs and narrow streets that do not we guessed early. Roads lead names that refer to old churches, noble families, in crafts. The buildings that overlook the road we walk make us think that we are in the ancient centre of the Acropolis. Beautiful buildings, with fine sculptural inserts and stone artifacts of great taste. Some a bit sad from elements. And the Church, beautiful, austere, with fine stucco on the walls. We find a nun, especially friendly, which tells us the story of the cult and the order amongst many smiles and reflections of modern life. The nuns are also keepers of ancient recipes. We buy biscuits with almonds and cus-cuc (pistachios, almonds, candies and other things that I do not know), this stuffing to stuff the lambs of marzipan Easter celebrations. A long hike, from Via Atenea, not very tiring for us, that was worth doing.

  • Those who believe that Agrigento only city of temples and the sea, is mistaken. Agrigento is also quite different; Agrigento is churches who hide among the creeks of the alleys of the old city centre, where perfumes of cooked mix to smell the flowers. Agrigento is also complex of Santo Spirito, with its church, typically from portal class with stucco and Chiaramonte serpottiani bas-relief, and with its monastery, the true essence of this place, with its rooms, its Museum and its garden full of history that only this place so far but near the lower Street nightlife can save ... Wonderful ... Even the staff (nuns) is obviously very qualified.

  • Structure of great historical and cultural interest. Today it houses a sculpture by Bernini

  • The experience of buying the cakes in this place is fantastic, but the desserts are not up to the history of the place.
