Narrow path without reports in the degraded Agrigento, streets and stairways with dirt and grass to reach the top of the village and visit a cathedral which would be a Pearl if restored and fixed is that unfortunately is internally almost all cordoned off. We received a good welcome from a friendly girl who offered an interesting guided tour of the Bell Tower and the top of the Cathedral. Unfortunately we could only by Monday, which is closed. But how can you close during times of influx of tourists?

You have to climb up to the top of Agrigento but worth it: only the high altar would merit a trip.

It is worth paying the ontribution that the keepers wonder why the Cathedral contains artostici treasures of valre, curiosity and historical fittings, appropriately illustrated by the same guardians. There are stairs to do, not recommended for those who have difficulty walking. A child of 4 years if has fared, but ... The sadness is that the structure is all dotted and threatens to collapse. Urgent action!

  • Pay the 3 euro to get access to the tower and chapel its well worth it with a great view of the city, easily the best church in agrigento. Its under restoration and probably will be for years but it's very cool to see the work that's been done so far. You'll get your workout getting there be ready to climb some steps. This might be my favorite church in Sicily so far don't miss it.
  • The Cathedral of Agrigento, now closed, is definitely a place to visit

  • In the southern façade of the tower are obvious decorative bullets of plateresque decoration, with blind Windows and the coat of arms of Montaperto eroded by time, in the collection is the happy combination dictated by the juxtaposition of styles.
