  • Apart from the fact that it is closed on Mondays! See a staircase as beautiful as this cordoned with iron bars that even on a country road you can see, with an explanation of the initiative somewhat gaunt and sad: "Walk in Progress» and aims to draw attention to the Agrigento Cathedral closed for four years because of the danger of collapse due to Ridge that is falling apart. The installation is curated by Gaetano Vella and Giampaolo Riolo, with the green light of the Director of the Diocesan weekly Polo friend don Carmelo Petrone. Shame that everything is dated 2014 and I wonder if she's still "arrival" or not! The Cathedral is the emblem of the city: "I'd be wonderful with my Tuff and decorations, but they ruined it with highrises hideous and forgetting the past."

  • Interesting and do not miss a visit to the extraordinary and monumental Cathedral of Agrigento, beamed ceiling and panelling, stucco and frescos and columns. The Bell Tower, overlooking the town. The room dedicated to blessed sister Maria Crocifissa della Concezione (Corbera del Gattopardo), with books of the process of beatification and the letter of the devil. Interesting silver sarcophagus of San Gerlando.

  • I could not have imagined so much wealth: a profusion of stucco and Baroque decorations in the apse and the beautifully decorated wooden roof. Also of interest is the sobrapposizione of styles, from Gothic to Baroque, Chiaramonte from Norman to Renaissance. Special thanks must be given to the appropriate guide Alice, voluntary association "Art and faith" which with grace and kindness we have documented in detail on the letter of the devil and the history of the Cathedral, making your visit more interesting. Shame about the consolidation of part of the structure of the Church and for the closure of the staircase in front of the main façade. With a small ticket can be visited the apse and, through a few flights of narrow stairs, the Bell Tower, which offers a nice view over the city.
