Faunist Park La Torbiera is a Biopark and consists of an area open to the public and a protected area for wildlife preservation. It was established in Agrate Conturbia, Piedmont, Italy in 1977 to preserve and study some animal species in danger of extinction.EnvironmentFaunistic Park La Torbiera is located in a border area between the Po Valley and the Prealps, characterized by a mild but damp climate, and plenty of small lakes. This is therefore a very favorable environment for the development of mires, which are born progressively by the accumulation of dead parts of vegetable on bottom of lakes. In wet soil, the oxygen deficiency prevents the oxidation processes and the complete decomposition of plants. The vegetable remains are transformed therefore only partially, becoming peat, and they collect on the bottom, making progressively decrease the depth of the basin. In this way, the plants of the shore which can be pushed towards the inside, reducing, until its demise, the surface of the water. The park, covering an area of 40 acres, provides shelter for many animal species. There are about 400 specimens relative to 130 wildlife species, mostly from the Palaearctic region.

  • Center aimed at conservation of certain endangered species. Offers a nice walk around a pond, among animals living in their natural rhythm and very well kept. Ideal for a relaxing day, alone, with friends, with family, hobbies (photo). Personally I'm already gone several times and I have accompanied several people, all fascinated of the Park. The guys who work there are very helpful and they do a great job in keeping this little gem!

  • Typical school destination from k-sixth grade, don't mind even to couples without children to spend a few hours in the middle of nature and animals. Arm yourself with patience photographing animals is always difficult. Picnic area and bars for sandwiches and pasta dishes.

  • To spend a few hours immersed in nature and surrounded by animals is a pleasant place. Recommended especially for children. Park very clean and kept in good condition. I would recommend adding half-way of the baths are found only on exit. Acceptable price €12 per adult. Large free car park.

  • Nice walk in the woods around the animals. It seems that they really care for the animals.
  • Main entrance changed to the restaurant and adult admission increased to 12euro. Less than 10% of animals were there and most of them are hiding and napping. Finally one tiger and two leopards went out for food-feeding and that worth 80% of ticket price.
  • It wasn't the first time I went to this Faunistic Park, but I've always been too little. Today I visited again with my parents and had a great time! The animals didn't seem very stressed aside from the tiger, the Amur leopard and the ocelot.. My personal favorite animal is the snow leopard because it's really playful and keeps you entertained when it's not sleeping :D Overall I totally recommend this place for a nice day in the company of these peculiar species!
  • A beautiful place, surrounded by greenery, never messy or too commercial! The animals can be observed very well. My favorite animal park!

  • Very nice Park. Not a zoo, but it is intended for the survival and reproduction of the breeds present in the structure. The animals seem to be kept well, the cages are very large. The walk is long, but it's not tiring. Animals you can see quite well, but for the size of the cages is not always easy to see them all, especially the big cats or wolves. Should be improved a bit the rest stop, that is the bar. I hope you can make more visits to further enhance the Park.
