Faunist Park La Torbiera is a Biopark and consists of an area open to the public and a protected area for wildlife preservation. It was established in Agrate Conturbia, Piedmont, Italy in 1977 to preserve and study some animal species in danger of extinction.EnvironmentFaunistic Park La Torbiera is located in a border area between the Po Valley and the Prealps, characterized by a mild but damp climate, and plenty of small lakes. This is therefore a very favorable environment for the development of mires, which are born progressively by the accumulation of dead parts of vegetable on bottom of lakes. In wet soil, the oxygen deficiency prevents the oxidation processes and the complete decomposition of plants. The vegetable remains are transformed therefore only partially, becoming peat, and they collect on the bottom, making progressively decrease the depth of the basin. In this way, the plants of the shore which can be pushed towards the inside, reducing, until its demise, the surface of the water. The park, covering an area of 40 acres, provides shelter for many animal species. There are about 400 specimens relative to 130 wildlife species, mostly from the Palaearctic region.

  • I must say that I really liked. I've found abandoned but in my opinion the whole thing is left as natural as possible and is an entirely different matter. There are many animals and with a little patience and without making much fuss you can see them all. The place is spotless fortunately there is no trace of rubbish or cigarette butts. The ride is pleasant and the right length if you have young children. It is a place to spend 3 hours immersed in nature, unpretentious and without games or rides of any kind. Only animal life no more. The price is fair 12 € and children under 4 years are free. There is also a restaurant and a bar in the same area where the toilets are. Overall a nice place unpretentious but suitable to spend a few hours

  • Impossible not to visit this park, the big cats are primarily the most enchanting of all animals. If you are lucky, they are not sleeping, they approach to large Windows allowing you to take memorable photos. Otherwise you can admire while resting on branches of the appropriate habitat recreated to make them live better. Impressive, positively, even the birds of prey. The path is simple and suitable for everyone for a good walk isn't strenuous and pleasurable. You walk into a dense forest, obviously drawn from well-maintained trails, which in summer is pleasantly cool. You can linger on the innumerable benches, looking at the map. In front of each animal present in the structure there is a sign indicating the species, the area of origin and other useful information. There is also particular flora, also described by special signs structured in front of each plant. Is not just a park that attracts children but can be unforgettable for people of all ages, and even photographers. The price of admission, considered all maintenance that must make, is essentially modest and affordable.
