Sentiero degli dei (Path of the Gods), Agerola
(4.9/5 based on 1,800+ reviews on the web)
Take a hike through the mountains and enjoy breathtaking views of the coastline and the sea at Sentiero degli dei (Path of the Gods). The 8 km (5 mi) long trail marked with red and white stripes features scenic views of picturesque villages and waves crashing on the beaches. Take another 300 steps down to the beach and go for a swim, washing off the dust and dirt of the road as you splash. Bring plenty water with you, and start early in the morning to avoid the midday heat. For a truly authentic experience, buy the local mozzarella cheese from a shop at the entrance to the trail, take some bread, and stop for a picnic along the way. • I was in Sorrento and went to Amalfi by bus, there took another to Agerolla where it enters the street that gives the Sentieiri degli dei. The walk is sensational, with views of the mountains, and the sea below, safe way but you must pay attention as there are places that can be dangerous, but despite the tiredness, is worth a visit, not to be missed.
