Sentiero degli dei (Path of the Gods), Agerola
(4.9/5 based on 1,800+ reviews on the web)
Take a hike through the mountains and enjoy breathtaking views of the coastline and the sea at Sentiero degli dei (Path of the Gods). The 8 km (5 mi) long trail marked with red and white stripes features scenic views of picturesque villages and waves crashing on the beaches. Take another 300 steps down to the beach and go for a swim, washing off the dust and dirt of the road as you splash. Bring plenty water with you, and start early in the morning to avoid the midday heat. For a truly authentic experience, buy the local mozzarella cheese from a shop at the entrance to the trail, take some bread, and stop for a picnic along the way. • Nice, pleasant, easy. We spent the night in Agerola and in the morning we left with destination Positano on the path of the gods. Three hours quietly from Bomerano up to Nocelle doing the upper part of the trail. Doing the lower and descending to Praiano, you pass by the Church of Constantinople and Saint Dominic, stages that we will do next time. Don't be afraid to get lost-the trails are easy and meet many people. From Nocelle is a long and beautiful staircase that starts from the Church of the Holy Cross takes to shore and then walk on the road to Positano. There is water up to Nocelle. Good journey at all.

  • We loved this hike and found it quite easy to complete. We are late 20s and moderately fit but don't do any regular hiking. We did the hike in joggers/runners/sneakers, no poles or any assistance. Fro...  more »
