  • Highly recommended hiking in these woods where time seems to stop. Before you go, me and my partner, we contacted Mr. Roberto Antonini, photographer, which he guided to two wonderful hours in the Woods. Real worthwhile experience. Roberto is a lover of forests and nature in General and during the visit with his passion infects you, telling the story of the forest, descrivendoti in detail the plant and animal species that inhabit it. It is rare to see people so excited like him; Surely the visit without his leadership would not have been the same. In Exchange for his time asking to buy a photo book (20 euros), best buy. Very impressive the Gothic tomb of Marquis in the Woods

  • The forest of Rocks is located in Torre Alfina, Acquapendente municipality: we are in the North of the province of Viterbo, on the border of three regions (Lazio, Tuscany and Umbria). The preservation of this wonderful, enchanted forest, untouched, the Marquis Edward Cahen, Jewish banker of Belgian origin, who in 1880 he bought the castle of Torre Alfina, including farms and Lands, including the Forest of Rocks. And the Marquis loved so much these woods to be build in the middle of this its a grave mausoleum, inside which now rests. This wood, as the name says, it is characterized by lava boulders covered with mosses and lichens and plants from the particular forms. This is a real enchanted forest, a natural monument of the Lazio region: the National Geographic describes him: "Rocks is not a forest. Simply enter below the turn somber, do a short walk among the great trunks centenarians to understand at once that here nature expresses an ancient and mysterious force ".

  • Woods to visit preferably with a route guide a little bumpy the forest is part of the Castle and both are for sale and is not maintained so it's relatively easy to find on the trails fallen trees but place to visit definitely
