  • A great spot at the foot of monte Velino. One feels the real story, that of the great personages of the Roman Empire and its enemies (apparently there is dead Perseus King of Macedon and imprisoned Jugurtha). In the old town there are the remains of the Forum, macellum and via Tiburtina shops of merchants. Don't miss the Amphitheater with its extraordinary acoustics. I would highly recommend the tour so you don't miss any features of the site quite well preserved.

  • "ALBA FUCENS" town originally "aequa" then conquered by the Romans. Located in a strategic position both for military and commercial applications. Very well preserved archaeological remains can be visited for free but you have to be very careful where you put your feet. Special attention goes to the amphitheatre and the Church "St. Peter". The camera is used to capture shots (especially at sunset) and the backlight .... are unique in the world. It's a site for anything advertised (and maybe it's a good thing) but it is worth visiting!

  • A few kilometers from Avezzano, precisely in Massa d'Albe, you can visit for free the ruins of this beautiful and extremely well preserved Roman city. You can see easily the plan of the city, its main streets and the perimeters of housing. If you are interested in history and archeology is the place for you. However, even those who don't fit in the above categories will appreciate for sure the place: on the other hand there are not many places (except Rome) where you can visit an ancient Roman city! A must visit if you are in the area!

  • Atmosphere and places that make the idea of how to play life in the ancient Roman town of Alba Fucens. I can't give 5 stars because it lacks all the information with dedicated signage. As often happens in Abruzzo on the jewelry you leave accumulate dust.

  • Beautiful. Excellent the amphitheatre and the Church of San Pietro in sunrises. A little less, the Forum (still to be excavated in toto). To visit anyway

  • There is the story of ancient Rome seen from the periphery

  • An archaeological site of great interest to visitors free of charge every day of the year. Still perfectly legible numerous public and private buildings.
