  • QuadriBasilica, a term illogical, in appearance, to describe this beautiful monument abbiatense. Basilica, because it is the main church of the city, paintings ... because it is composed of several elements: the Church, the Bell Tower, the Pronaos and the portico ... that's not exactly a cloister. There are many events that carries on its walls, many facts, both small and great. The minor Basilica of Santa Maria Nascente (that is his real name) is waiting to be discovered both internally and estrernemanete. If they seem strange names, then four-sided porch and, perhaps through the local Pro Loco with its volunteers, find the small church of the Addolorata, the Cerano and the baptismal font ... but there is much more waiting for you!

  • If you find yourself at Abbiategrasso do not hesitate to go to visit the Basilica of Santa Maria Nuova. You can admire all the arcade that surrounds the courtyard before entering the Basilica to admire the glance it deserves. It was built in 1388 on the occasion of the birth of the son of Gian Galeazzo Visconti and renovated several times over the years. Well worth a visit ... ....

  • The Basilica is located in Abbiategrasso near Milan, in the city centre. The gabled brick façade, decorated with hanging arches, still visible today. The Church, with three naves and three apses. A legend tells that mothers in Milan, at that time, they had difficulty in conceiving male children, there are rumors that Gian Galeazzo, made a vow to the Virgin, asking her the grace of having a male child. The grace we hearkened to, at which point both the Visconti family, that their successors, the Sforzas devoted to our Lady, always gave the middle name Maria, to their children.
