Historic Site Tourist Spot
An unusual combination of pilgrimage sites and water-sport resorts on the Sea of Galilee, Tiberias ranks among Israel's most popular vacation spots. Stretching along the 51 km (32 mi) harp-shaped lakeshore, the city offers beaches and hot springs in a large national park, all coexisting with numerous holy sites for both Christians and Jews. The lowest city in the country at 200 m (656 ft) below sea level, it rises above Lake Kinneret offering many camping sites, promenades, and fresh seafood restaurants. Explore burial sites of Jewish sages, crusader churches, the large fish market, and countless falafel stands. • It was very nice for the price. Showers had nice cold water and didn't go scalding after a while (which sometimes happens when in Israel). My room had two beds, both very comfortable, a TV, and a fridge in the room. The reception people were very nice and friendly and are able to converse well with guests. The big open lobby has a nice seating room and it's perfect for relaxing. Wifi was great, didn't disconnect at all. I absolutely loved this hostel and will be staying there again when traveling to Tiberias.
  • Very basic, nothing fancy. Staff nonchalant. But location is great
  • We stayed here for 2 nights. We liked the fact this hostel is so central. It was just a 5 minutes walk to the boulevard. The room was nice. It had AC, a good bed and mini fridge. The bathroom could use an update in our opinion. It was little noisy outside the room, but it's a hostel so we couldn't expect silence at night. There was complimentary coffee and tea all day which is nice. Breakfast was included but not very special. Some bread, a few spreads and some veggies. Fine for a short eating moment to start the day though. The hosts of the hostel were very friendly and informative about things to do in the area.
  • It's clean, has a great kitchen, and the roof too just opened before I stayed which has a pretty great view. The roof in addition to a chill room and hallway on the third floor gave options for guests to mingle or have their space. There is a computer with internet that is free to use and washer/dryer on site. So I am a happy guest when I left.
  • The hostel is good, could be a little cleaner and in better shape but it's absolutely ok! They have a nice rooftop terrace where you can watch sunset and sundown. Breakfast is ok. It's located in the city center, so it's usually loud early in the morning and late in the evening.

Where to stay in Tiberias

Offering both affordable dorm beds and the most luxurious hotels in northern Israel, the resort town of Tiberias accommodates a wide range of tourists. The lakeshore and the main street are the top location for many inexpensive hotels; come with a reservation, especially during July and August, when domestic tourists take over. A good number of convenient mid-range hotels lie up on the hill on Route 77, providing great views of the Sea of Galilee.
