An unusual combination of pilgrimage sites and water-sport resorts on the Sea of Galilee, Tiberias ranks among Israel's most popular vacation spots. Stretching along the 51 km (32 mi) harp-shaped lakeshore, the city offers beaches and hot springs in a large national park, all coexisting with numerous holy sites for both Christians and Jews. The lowest city in the country at 200 m (656 ft) below sea level, it rises above Lake Kinneret offering many camping sites, promenades, and fresh seafood restaurants. Explore burial sites of Jewish sages, crusader churches, the large fish market, and countless falafel stands. We loved our hotel but were very disappointed with the City of Tiberias. The streets near the marina and the beaches were dirty. There is also a bad element in that area. We saw people actually throwi... read more »
The people in the hostel are really friendly and they do a great job providing you all necessary information in order to explore the surroundings of Tiberias. Omer who runs the place is a great guy. At the moment they are doing a lot of remodeling and once all the work is done I belive that it will be an even better place. Go there!
A completely new place since the new owner in 2015 in assume. The new people are awesome, and beeing travellers themselfs can cater exactly to your needs. I wouldnt expect such a gem so far of the main tourist routes. From the inside of course, its just a hostel, cleaner than most, location is central. But the staff and trips will make your visit worth while!
Lovely people , smiling ☺ experience, give you a good day inspiration. The way to see the good side of things.
It's got most of what you need in a hostel, but there's nothing special about it. The breakfast was a bit shoddy and its a bit overpriced, but it's got a good location. Meh?
I arrived here around the beginning of Jun 2012 and decided to stay because the hostel is so clean, cozy and the staff were so nice and accommodating. The proprietor goes out of his way to please the guests and yes, he does live here (literally) so he does have a bedroom here. The beds are changed daily and one guest mentioned to me that the beds were so comfortable that he got the best night's sleep he had had in a long time and that he also loved the pillow. Just two weeks ago all of the rooms on the main floor were re-painted and all carpets were cleaned. The area of Tiberias the hostel is in gets so quiet at night it sometimes seems as if I could be out in the countryside. But in the day you are walking distance to about 4 banks, 2 grocery stores, several money changers, an open-air market, the central bus station and 2 McDonald's (of which I haven't visited), and many, many shops. It's the ideal place to stay! And it's the end of Sept and I'm still here!! ;)
