Old Tel Aviv Port Area, Tel Aviv

4.5
#6 of 346 in Things to do in Tel Aviv
Stroll along Old Tel Aviv Port Area, where the city folk come out to eat, drink, and play in close proximity to the ocean. Originally established in the 1930s to serve as the main commercial harbor for the city, the "namal" (port) never quite lived up to that expectation. Today, the redeveloped area features a long boardwalk, lined by Israeli and international clothing stores, cafes, and restaurants. At night, the city's young residents swarm the many nightclubs and bars in the area, sometimes spilling onto the beach and invading the sand. A visit to Old Tel Aviv Port Area represents just the start of the adventure when you use our Tel Aviv family vacation planner to plot your vacation.

The waterfront is beautiful, the restaurants are pretty typically touristy with pretty average fare. A few interesting shops, have a look if you're in the area otherwise not worth s special trip.  more »

Lovely place for an afternoon walk with the family. The place is packed with people. Parking is a mess, but there so much picture opportunities that you'll forget about that
