Hagana Museum, Tel Aviv

4.4
#11 of 32 in Museums in Tel Aviv
Visit Hagana Museum, a museum dedicated to the establishment of the Jewish Yishuv and its military group, the Hagana which served as the foundation for the Israel Defense Forces. The museum operates in the former home of Eliyahu Golomb, one of the founders and famous commanders of the Hagana. The house was originally constructed in 1914 and has been preserved to reflect the typical Tel Aviv lifestyle of the time. Observe numerous original artifacts such as photos, weapons, testimonials, and accounts documenting the struggle in creating the state of Israel. You'll be able to learn about revolts, wars, and how the military evolved into an officially recognized state defense force. • In the Museum you can find out how to develop the armed formations in Palestine since the beginning of the 20th century and how to change their character with the defensive to the offensive. It is necessary, however, basic knowledge in this area. Tickets cost 20 NIS but this ticket includes 4 other museums, including the Israeli defence forces and dedicated to other organizations. Unfortunately, the Palmach Museum not included. Remember to document identity. Like other museums of this kind of closed on Friday and Saturday. You can combine a visit to independence Hall, located almost vis a vis.

  • Not done is one before. Well laid out. Some of the information is in Hebrew, but there is a film fist (we didn't have time to see it). Will probably go back again.  more »

  • Very educational, modest and emotional exhibition. Highly recommend.
  • Really nice and enriching experience.
  • Interesting
  • The Museum is very interesting. Imperious is presented in a compelling way. Multimedia track events and attacks. The installations are well built and powerful. Project a number of movies. I recommend the Museum to enrich and learn the unpopular details of history.

  • The Museum would benefit a lot of translating to English all the names and elements of the exhibition. To meet the better we know the story of the creation of Israel, however, feel hungry. Were also more interactive elements. If you have a lot of time, it's worth taking a look, otherwise better let go about
