Watching over the northern entrance of the ancient town of Jaffa, Clock Tower remains as a testament to the Ottoman period. Constructed as one of seven in Palestine to honor the silver jubilee of the reign of Sultan And al-Hamid II, the tower was completed in 1903. Approach the limestone landmark from across its busy thoroughfare, noting the commemorative plaque dedicated to the memory of Israelis killed in the First Arab-Israeli War. • Maybe because I'm coming from Jerusalem where I saw many old buildings the old jaffam including the clock tower charmed me, it seemed very simple on what see in Jerusalem, it might be worth to you just visited the modern part of Israel until then.

  • The clock tower in itself is a pretty insignificant structure. It's a good landmark. The flea market is a couple of streets away.
