At Nimrod's Lookout, hear a touching story from the mouth of a grieving father whose insufferable loss of only son prompted him to change his life. The paved lookout terrace surrounded by a lush garden--which provides scenic views of the valley and the mountains--is dedicated to an Israeli soldier and his fellow fighters who lost their lives in a war with Lebanon. Nimrod's father Segev--who guides tours to the lookout--built this memorial near an old fig tree, which once carried a tree-house where his son spent his childhood days. We rested in the hotel Mizpe Hajamim we were lucky to get acquainted with and the father of Nimrod Segev has stated-Hjezi. He told us the story and tragedy of his family and advised to visit Mitzpe Nimrod. Beautiful place, information is in Hebrew and in English, the benches in the shade of the trees. Everything is done for the people. Example of how to continue to love life in spite of everything. Be sure to visit this place to feel yourself a real Israeli!

The lookout was well situated and had lots of places to sit in the shade. There was also information about the fallen soldier the lookout is named for in English and Hebrew. more »
