The Church of the Annunciation, Nazareth

(900+ reviews on the web)
Architectural Building
Believed by many to stand over the childhood home of the Virgin Mary, The Church of the Annunciation represents a two-storey contemporary house of worship completed in 1969. Make your way to the ornately decorated lower level, allegedly the spot where angel Gabriel told Mary she would give birth to the Son of God. The majestic domed ceiling suggests the appearance of an inverted lily, a nod to the Semitic translation of Nazareth--flower. Our Nazareth itinerary planner makes visiting The Church of the Annunciation and other Nazareth attractions simple, and helps you make a travel plan personal to you.

  • The cave home of Mary---Definitely worth a stop here while in Nazareth. Good stopping point coming down from Galilee on way back to Jerusalem.  more »
  • It was a stop part of a group tour. Very clean and maintained place. Gets crowded at times but still worth a visit, it is an important place in Israel. Dress code fully implemented, be aware.  more »
