Nazareth Village, Nazareth

(4.5/5 based on 380 reviews on the web)
Reenact the early life of Jesus at Nazareth Village, an open-air museum in the eponymous town. Aimed at reconstructing the 1st-century farm and village in Galilee, the village features a large number of traditional houses, ancient-style workshops, terrace fields, and dry stone mills. The Scottish foundation-run theme park gives a wide range of hands-on experience to visitors, just 0.5 km (0.3 mi) away from the ancient town center. Explore a Jesus-style carpentry shop or check out a good shepherd next to a pen full of sheep, which you can feed. Appropriately dressed actors keep the lore alive, demonstrating daily life some 2,000 years ago. Put Nazareth Village and other Nazareth attractions into our Nazareth vacation generator, and watch your holiday take shape.

  • A living and working museum that's worth driving for. I've been there three times, and the different guides each time have new details and stories. Remember to book a guided tour to get all details from the buildings etc. Also recommended for children as there are workshops, living animals etc.
  • If you have enough time in Nazareth you should visit the place- you need to book s local guide in advance. Usually the guides are very knowledgeable and talented. Highly recommended
  • Nice recreation of the Nazareth Jesus would have walked in. The tour was well worth the 50 Shekels and the guide offered many insights to life during that time.
  • People in period costume help bring this place of Jesus' childhood to life.
  • Very cool place to visit that tells you the history of how people used to live many centuries ago
