Where to stay in Jerusalem

Although it lacks a big selection of mid-range options, Jerusalem provides plenty of choices in the top-end hotel category. The Old City contains the bulk of Jerusalem's small hotels, inexpensive hostels, and religious hospices, all of which appeal to budget-conscious travelers. West Jerusalem offers additional options in the form of guesthouses and bigger hotels, some of which boast five-star ratings. If you just need a bed, consider a youth hostel, where you can choose between private and common rooms with Wi-Fi included.

  • 4 - for problems with parking. Like always. Nice place to start journey to old city if you so lucky to find a parking space. Parking isn't free.
  • Beautiful southern gate of Jerusalem old city, has a synagogue, beautiful church and mosque and lovely south ward panorama
  • This gate shows history, war, and has a great view from on top of it. Leads right from Mt Zion to the Armenian quarter. Bullet holes throughout the gate are from the '67 war.
  • This is the safest gate to the old city of Jerusalem. Having said that, you can still see the bullet markings on the wake of the gate.
  • Jerusalem old city, Zion Gate. Historical place, nice people
