  • We visited the Zion Gate, built in 1540, whilst walking the sights of Mt Zion & the Old City. The Gate is impressive with the visible marks in the walls from shelling during the 1967 6-day war. Outsid...  more »
  • The rather unassuming from the outside but very massive gate is the passage from the old town to the Mount Zion with the Davids tomb and the Dormitioabtei. The quiet but quite atmospheric Armenian quarter is worth your way through the Zion gate. The narrow passage through the gate has a sharp right-angle bend in its middle, which should prevent that riders can take the gate in the storm. Also, some bullet holes from the Israeli war of independence can be seen on the facade.

  • Southwestern gate from Soliman's time. Hailed by 7,5 mm shots from 1948 and 1967 wars. Leadind to the Cenacle and Dormition churches.
  • Historical site with a nearby parking and a great view to the sunset over this magnificent city.
  • The closest entrance to the Old City from our hotel. Inside the walls - lots to see.
  • The most decorated gate (by Saladin) in Jerusalem. Pictursque.
  • I love every piece of this city.
