  • At the bottom of the Mount of Olives is the Tomb of the Virgin Mary. Aside from the religious importance of the church; it really gives you a feel for how much the landscape has changed since the time...  more »
  • The Saint is the Tomb Ierotatos Tabor of the Virgin Mary and is for the Orthodox the third in order of importance of pilgrimage. The current Temple and is one of the oldest buildings in Jerusalem, built by St. Helena in honor of the Dormition of Theotokos. Beneath the surface of the ground to reach the Tomb went down 48 stairs. And although it is a humble crypt, internally, however, reveals a distinct magnificence.

  • Final stop on the Sandeman's excellant Mount of Olives tour. A fascinating underground Greek Orthodox church - walking down the staircase leading to the presumed tomb is like walking into a smoky, incensed and venerable past.
  • Incredible. Definitely worth seeing. The stairs of candles is impre.

  • This is at the bottom of the hill up to the Mount of Olives. I would have missed it but somebody pointed it out to me. It's worth heading down, you walk down staircase to the bottom. There is incense in the air and lot of pictures of Mary
