  • An Orthodox Church is located on the left hand when going up against the Mount of olives and the Jewish cemetery. As always, the Orthodox churches adorned his saints in gold and silver and the paintings on the walls are directly beautiful!

  • It is not so easy to get here-first you have to find very quit-pass between houses located perpendicular to the street, left at its end will be a green metal door that is always closed. Nearby there is a wake-up call to him to call and when you answer, you say that the Orthodox and ask to admit, then the door will open. This is an Orthodox convent of the Russian church abroad. Here is the Russian ecclesiastical mission [the Roca]. Naselnicy-Arab, Romanian, Russian. Not all speak Russian, be ready. Two temple-the right of the entrance to the main temple of stone, on which stood the mother of God at the time of the Ascension of the Lord. It is fenced, the next icon of the mother of God. The second shrine is located in the chapel of John the Baptist-first and second place gaining head of John the Baptist-a hole in the floor in the shape of the head, is lined with mosaics of the 4th century. They say you can be healed by the prayers here for a headache. Summers here are hot, but often a strong wind, in the evening, even in summer, you can catch a cold from drafts in the temple-take something for insulation. In the alley near the entrance of olive growing fig-on ties for the fig tree, which is mentioned in the Gospel. Oh and olive trees themselves-at this place the olive groves were in Christ, these stones are remembered touching his feet. The far side monastery overlooking Bethlehem. The most famous is the Bell Tower, the tallest building in Jerusalem, 64 m is visible from any point of the old town. Called "Russian candle".

Where to stay in Jerusalem

Although it lacks a big selection of mid-range options, Jerusalem provides plenty of choices in the top-end hotel category. The Old City contains the bulk of Jerusalem's small hotels, inexpensive hostels, and religious hospices, all of which appeal to budget-conscious travelers. West Jerusalem offers additional options in the form of guesthouses and bigger hotels, some of which boast five-star ratings. If you just need a bed, consider a youth hostel, where you can choose between private and common rooms with Wi-Fi included.
