  • If the baptism site of Jesus was really exactly in this place can and you are probably never going to work, but it is important ultimately that agreed on this place, here to celebrate the baptism of Jesus. The today's Jordan is so close to the dead sea trickle, already a narrower so you here yet once artificially has dammed him (otherwise you instead of baptisms at best foot ablutions could understand). By the Israeli as well as from the Jordanian side wooden stairs lead to the basin down, a buoy chain separates the two countries, and soldiers on both sides on it sure that none come near the 'border'. What makes the place but special, is the atmosphere that emanates from the (mostly American and Asian) group, which here in simple white christening gowns wrapped by a priest (yet again) be baptized and whose singing halls through the Jordan Valley. For some, an experience of the highest spirituality silly for the others.
