Garden Tomb, Jerusalem
(4.5/5 based on 1,300+ reviews on the web)
Believed by many Christians to be the tomb of Jesus Christ, Garden Tomb sits at the edge of a hill that many consider Golgotha, the site mentioned in the Gospels as the location of Jesus' crucifixion. Unearthed in 1864, the site acts as an alternative potential burial and resurrection site to the Church of the Holy Sepulchre. Group guided tours are available every 30 minutes, or individuals may walk the garden alone. Look for self-guiding leaflets at the information counter. • This is a genuine place, far from tourist crowds. It gives a calm, sincere and religious feeling. I believe in this.
  • In my opinion, any believer who has a relationship with Jeshua should take the time to visit the Garden Tomb. It's free to visit. The best part though is feeling His presence there. I highly recommend...  more »
  • Although this place is probably not where Jesus died and arose, it gives you the feel of what Calvary and the tomb was like in Jerusalem before the city and churches grew up around it. They give an ex...  more »

  • Nestled into a small space up a narrow lane next to a bus depot is this rich historical site. I love that it's staffed by caring volunteers who are knowledgeable and respectful of their audience as they lead tours. As I look back at the photos I took there, I feel a sense of peace and calm. And I would be remiss if I didn't mention their gift shop. For someone like me who appreciates unique handmade items, I was able to find some little gifts for friends at home - felted sheep and a special nativity. I wish I could visit again.
  • The bus station right next to where we sat listening to our guide when we first arrived was a little distracting and noisy. Later, as we moved into the garden, we were surrounded by quiet and submerged in an absolutely peaceful setting. There were other Christian groups visiting at the time, all worshipping in their own way. Our guide, Joe from Texas, was amazing and made our visit an incredible experience. There is a wonderful gift shop when you exit.
  • TETRAGRAMMATON-JIREH paid the price for us, Andrew Boris Makarov, Eevi Makarov-Junev, and entire family bloodline with his Son Jesus as the Holy Sacrifice and did arise on the third day giving us the new eternal life with a heavenly Body. (Jesus forgave us for our Sins) He also Said do you Know I could call 12 legion of my Angels.
  • This was a great ending to our 2-week tour in Israel. The place is quiet and invites contemplation. There's a tomb that most likely resembles the tomb that Jesus was buried in.
  • Another most amazing place God's grace was present in there I think every Christian should visit the holy land it completed my faith.
