  • Most likely significantly before most were planted with olive trees, so it is not known exactly where Jesus sat. It's just like a small illustration of how it could look. Of course, now more organized, with tracks. The garden itself is fenced, you can pass along the perimeter.

  • It was the most humbling spiritual experience I had on the Israel Pilgrimage. Neat, peaceful and clean environment. Well kept
  • Great place of worship, where Jesus spent his final days on Earth. Beautiful scenery and serene environment. Loved it.
  • You're in the place where the Lord was. A little crowded when we went, which was beginning of November. Very interesting place, you can see the old, old Olive trees from a long time ago.
  • Wow wow!! Most beautiful church and 2000 year old olive trees. I'm in love with this place. Such history!!
  • A beautiful garden, kept very similar to as it was in Jesus’ time. There’s speculation as to whether the trees had been historically cut down or not, but if these aren’t the same ones, they are definitely of the seedlings

Where to stay in Jerusalem

Although it lacks a big selection of mid-range options, Jerusalem provides plenty of choices in the top-end hotel category. The Old City contains the bulk of Jerusalem's small hotels, inexpensive hostels, and religious hospices, all of which appeal to budget-conscious travelers. West Jerusalem offers additional options in the form of guesthouses and bigger hotels, some of which boast five-star ratings. If you just need a bed, consider a youth hostel, where you can choose between private and common rooms with Wi-Fi included.
