This major Christian pilgrimage site includes the end of the Via Dolorosa and the reputed site of Christ's execution. You can see mosaics depicting the life of Saint John the Baptist, considered the oldest standing Christian monument in the Old City, and a museum of the Orthodox Patriarchate.   • It's worthwhile to visit all the quarters of the old city as they offer something different in each. 
  • There are merchants selling touristy items. The architecture and history are interesting. Go during daylight hours. 
  • Some interesting items, but the whole gives the impression of great poverty and does not have major interest.
