Sculptures Garden (Gan Hapsalim), Haifa

4.1
#3 of 15 in Museums in Haifa
Perched on a hilltop with scenic views of the bay, Sculptures Garden (Gan Hapsalim) displays 29 bronze sculptures by Berlin-born artist Ursula Malbin. Walk across the green grass lawns past sculptures representing children and teenagers playing with balls, hoops, kittens, and birds. A significant number of statues are nudes, which prompted a group of Orthodox Jews to make the unusual request that the artist dress them. • Free entrance, quite and serene, beautiful statues of people and nonhuman animals in movement. Nice place for leisurely walks or picnics, and close enough to Baha’i Gardens that you may as well stop here on your way if you have a morning or afternoon to explore the city. I was here in winter, and it was beautiful and impressively green - probably more lush and stunning in summer with everything in bloom! A bit difficult to find but you get there if you follow Google Maps exactly.
  • Superb art very original! Children people and animals very pure! Beautiful view on Haifa bay good for children also! And free!
  • Nice place to have a picnic. Horrible to go at night. You can try.
  • Great view of the see in a peaceful garden, the statues add a lot to the magic of the place
  • Nice please for small walk and get quiet environment in the middle of the city

Where to stay in Haifa

Look in the German Colony district close to the port to find the main bulk of the accommodations in Haifa. With its proximity to many of the urban attractions, this area has become a modern tourism hot spot. Here, you'll discover a rich mix of luxury hotels and boutiques set in well-maintained old blocks, as well as particularly budget-friendly options such as guesthouses. Alternatively, the coastline provides plenty of upmarket hotels in the more developed neighborhoods, and a scattering of guesthouses and resorts close to the sandy beaches.
