The Reuben and Edith Hecht Museum is a museum located on the grounds of the University of Haifa, Israel.HistoryThe Hecht Museum was established in 1984 by Reuben Hecht, director of Dagon Silos and a founding member of the University of Haifa Board of Governors. For sixty years, Hecht collected archaeological artefacts representing the material culture of the Land of Israel in ancient times. He was particularly interested in finds from the Canaanite period to the end of the Byzantine period. Hecht believed that archeology was an important expression of Zionism and these ancient artifacts were proof of the link between the Jewish people and Eretz Israel.

The main attraction of the Museum is, in my opinion, is an ancient craft, recycled from found materials. You understand immediately that only brave and reckless opening up new and paving the way on land and at sea. A rich collection of applied art, the good selection of paintings. Museum is worth a visit to then climb to the top floor of the University's Tower and see Haifa, omyvaemuju on three sides by the sea.

Where to stay in Haifa

Look in the German Colony district close to the port to find the main bulk of the accommodations in Haifa. With its proximity to many of the urban attractions, this area has become a modern tourism hot spot. Here, you'll discover a rich mix of luxury hotels and boutiques set in well-maintained old blocks, as well as particularly budget-friendly options such as guesthouses. Alternatively, the coastline provides plenty of upmarket hotels in the more developed neighborhoods, and a scattering of guesthouses and resorts close to the sandy beaches.
