A UNESCO biosphere reserve, Carmel National Park covers 10,000 hectares (24,711 acres) of forested terrain, reaching across the sloping coastal mountains range. Pick one of many trails within the expansive park, biking or hiking your way to panoramic views of Haifa and the surrounding valleys. Among eucalyptus, pine, and cypress trees, uncover some 250 prehistoric caves, human dwellings from hundreds of centuries ago. Dotted with picnic areas, restrooms, and a cafe, the park remains a quiet spot for soaking up the scenery. Wheelchair accessible picnic areas and vehicle trails are also available on site.   • Very big park, the closest to 'forest' there is in Israel. Great views of the Mediterranean sea. Excellent for day hikes, full of MTB single tracks. Lots of uphills, naturally :)  more »
