Spreading over the wetlands, Hula Nature Reserve supports water buffaloes, nutrias, otters, and swamp turtles, plus numerous indigenous plants and 200 species of migrating birds. The project of creating Israel's first nature reserve started in the 1950s, when swamps around the lake were drained. Follow the main swamp trail, dotted by bird-watching posts, and look out for kingfishers, pelicans, storks, cormorants, cranes, and waterfowl. The visitors' center features dioramas and 3D films on wildlife and bird migration. Remember to take binoculars with you.     The reserve is interesting, the tour at sunset was great, accompanied by an interesting explanation of the guide and driver. The entrance to the site is neglected by Dusty. We will enter a new entrance using dance donations (it is a pity that we require dance donations to maintain our sites) hope that you will improve the impression that they are coming to the site.

    Our expectations were probably far-reaching. We arrived during the roaming season and saw very few birds (and a few of them). The reserve itself is not large and there are many areas of interest, which are unfortunately closed to the public (who are they reserved for?)

    Wonderful family day out! We loved the views and the wildlife. There were fabulous nature walks. its a totally beautiful part of israel.  more »

    We've had a great time at this place. It is not big but very nice nature resort. Winter is a best season for visiting, I think.

    Thank you for protecting nature. A short walk surrounded by swamps, animals, fish, birds and good views all around. Fee charged at entrance and can be busy with large groups. Best to arrive early or late.

    Nice places to walk around. Lots of birds you can't see in most of Israel. The little video tour is fun.

    Presentation film excellent. Spacious hides. Beautiful backdrop of the Golan heights and Mt. Hermon.

    There are two 'nature reserves' in the Hula valley and this is the one managed by the Israeli National Park Service. The park is beautiful even if it is mostly man made. The animal and plant life seen here is breathtaking. So many different Flora and fauna that have returned to the valley because of this place. Highly recommend you try to come in spring to see the flowers blooming, but almost any time of the year will be great as well.
