Dead Sea, Dead Sea Region

(4.5/5 based on 1,400+ reviews on the web)
Swim, float, and nourish your skin at Dead Sea, a hypersaline lake. At 428 m (1,404 ft) below sea level, it is the earth's lowest point. However, the sea is most notable for the water's saltiness, which makes it good for floating and lends it some restorative dermatological properties. Salt and minerals from the sea are used in cosmetics and bath products all over the world. Camp or lounge on the sandy, open-access, northwest beach surrounded by hotels, or visit the mineral beach where bathers coat their skin in healing black mud. Be careful not to get the water in your eyes or in any open cuts--it will sting. Choose to start, finish, or center your holiday on a trip to Dead Sea by using our Ein Bokek itinerary planner.

  • It emerges in the middle of a desert. Separates Jordan from Israel. Is the point lower land, almost 500 meters below the level of the coastal sea. The concentration of salt makes the body afloat. The landscape is as of a planet newly descubierno. Not to be missed.

  • Definitely worth it. Because it is quite different from other seas, worth experience, even in winter. Just be careful with bruises or beard newly made, because burns.

  • Another one from the bucket list. Drove ourselves there, down the route 90, no issues with border control or the disputed territory, just take your passport and visa strip. Road is in great condition....  more »
