Dead Sea, Dead Sea Region
(4.5/5 based on 1,300+ reviews on the web)
Swim, float, and nourish your skin at Dead Sea, a hypersaline lake. At 428 m (1,404 ft) below sea level, it is the earth's lowest point. However, the sea is most notable for the water's saltiness, which makes it good for floating and lends it some restorative dermatological properties. Salt and minerals from the sea are used in cosmetics and bath products all over the world. Camp or lounge on the sandy, open-access, northwest beach surrounded by hotels, or visit the mineral beach where bathers coat their skin in healing black mud. Be careful not to get the water in your eyes or in any open cuts--it will sting. Choose to start, finish, or center your holiday on a trip to Dead Sea by using our Ein Bokek itinerary planner.

  • Swim in the dead sea is a unique experience, because salt in large concentration floats the body and prevents any way, it feels like diving into Jell-o. Unfortunately you can't stay long in water because the salt burns the skin and after a while starts to annoy, also makes it very smooth is pleasant to the touch

  • Thoroughly enjoyed floating in the Dead Sea. If you are visiting Jordan, this is the must-see-must-do thing without fail. We stayed at Jordan Valley Marriott Resort & Spa and had this private beach ex...  more »
  • Many want to swim in the dead sea where you can't swim but just float! The most positive is the black clay that is found in some places on the sea floor and to lubricate himself with it and the supposedly curative! The downside is that you feel like you stepped into a "Soapbox" and it's charming only of sea water! There is a shower to rinse off the sea water and after that it feels nice! I desire not to Kill the sea again!
