Dead Sea, Dead Sea Region
(4.5/5 based on 1,400+ reviews on the web)
Swim, float, and nourish your skin at Dead Sea, a hypersaline lake. At 428 m (1,404 ft) below sea level, it is the earth's lowest point. However, the sea is most notable for the water's saltiness, which makes it good for floating and lends it some restorative dermatological properties. Salt and minerals from the sea are used in cosmetics and bath products all over the world. Camp or lounge on the sandy, open-access, northwest beach surrounded by hotels, or visit the mineral beach where bathers coat their skin in healing black mud. Be careful not to get the water in your eyes or in any open cuts--it will sting. Choose to start, finish, or center your holiday on a trip to Dead Sea by using our Ein Bokek itinerary planner.

  • We had so much fun at the dead sea beach! We got a bucket of mud for cheap and just enjoyed soaking in the water. It felt great for those of us with joint injuries especially.
  • But, frankly, not very nice to lie "bujkom" in the water. and not particularly warm. Water is such a peculiar, as if oily to the touch. And don't get up! Don't forget your shoes! Although the beach was declared as "premium", but salt on the bottom was still not sufficiently smoothed to make it comfortable.
