Dead Sea, Dead Sea Region

4.4
#1 of 10 in Parks in Dead Sea Region
Swim, float, and nourish your skin at Dead Sea, a hypersaline lake. At 428 m (1,404 ft) below sea level, it is the earth's lowest point. However, the sea is most notable for the water's saltiness, which makes it good for floating and lends it some restorative dermatological properties. Salt and minerals from the sea are used in cosmetics and bath products all over the world. Camp or lounge on the sandy, open-access, northwest beach surrounded by hotels, or visit the mineral beach where bathers coat their skin in healing black mud. Be careful not to get the water in your eyes or in any open cuts--it will sting. • I always had an image that the Dead Sea would be brown and muddy. So when I stood in front of it for the first time, I was surprised to see a beautiful blue body of water. And when you get in, you can...  more »
  • This place is literally a miracle and never experienced something like this in a very long time. Although there was some pain due to the crazy salt in water it was one of the most rejuvenating experie...  more »
  • Everyone should visit the dead sea, go long. You can buy a ticket from Tel Aviv on 1 day. Nearby there are hotels with swimming pools and Spa. Don't forget your slippers before the trip. In the sea to go straight to hurt

  • One of my favorite things that I've experienced! Loved getting to feel the sensation of floating effortlessly. Got here by booking with a tour and had a great experience!
  • Wonderful adventure! Beautiful landscapes and scenery! Was amazed to learn that the Dead Sea is the lowest point on land! It’s super salty water makes you float so easily and the black mud is found right on the beach and you can cover yourself with it right there on the spot, which was so great! This whole experience is one of a kind!
  • Very dead. Nice and salty. Just like Hugh Fielding in an Overwatch game because hes a bad Lucio i am better he should heck off.
  • Truly wonderful experience here at the lowest(accessible) point on earth! The dead sea where many biblical stories take place. The water in the dead sea has a very high salt content roughly 5 times more salt than a typical sea. So if you're planning to take a dip here be careful of your eyes! They'll burn for a whole day if that water gets in them.
  • Until the international community is able to apply sufficient pressure on the Israeli and Jordanian governments and companies that are exploiting this incredible resource to find a solution to this disappearing sea the tragedy will continue. It is still a fun experience to float in the water and be caked in the mud, but the rough nearly 2km journey from the spa to the seashore is appalling.
