  • The contrast between old and new is so stark here that it makes for a remarkable viewing experience. From this church that can most accurately be described as resembling a flying saucer, it is possibl...  more »
  • A new-age style building sits over what is believed to have been the home of the Apostle Peter. The new church was erected in 1990 over the remains of the ancient temples. It is an active church. Ther...  more »
  • We travel the Via Maris to Capernaum. The Sea of Galilee seemed ethereal in the haze that hugged the surface of the waters. The ruins of Peter’s house were especially poignant. Jesus healed Pete’s mom...  more »

  • The atmosphere of peace and quiet just permeate the place.
  • Beautiful place to call home! But whats up with the disrespectful images. Is there anything to debate? Yashua and the disciples were absolutely not white! We have bibleS published, so scriptual evidence and archaeological data on real Hebrew Israelites! Whats the dam problem with if any , at least realistic looking images of the people. Their ALWAYS preaching color dont matter! But when it comes to Yashua it does. They HATE the truth so run with a fake image! He was a color combination like tan(saphardi) and Yahoodim, or Hebrew Israelites (black) (example:feet like burnt brass). And his hair is kinky(hair was woolly).King soloman sings about it! Why is it that the most advanced learning rabbis know the true races of the people in the scriptures, but dummy so called followers of Yashua don't. They should try starting with the correct NAME. YA-shua(from the house of David ha malech) so BEN DAVID! Whats the problem with the truth. If Jesus means so much to these people y cant they learn Hebrew? Isn't your soul worth it. If u REALLY believe u can sin indiscriminately ,and because God made come true the words he spoke to Isaiah in chapter 53 through Yashua, you are in for a HUGE disappointment. U should've studied Torah. Or the scriptures for your self enstead of following the blind into a pit(grave)!
  • There is a Synagogue here, the location is beautiful and the iconic statue of Peter holding the keys to heaven is here
  • Nice preservation at the Capernaum location. A church has been built over it to memorialize the probable house of Peter's mother in law. I liked the quotes in Latin and wood work around the walls of the church. Nice beach front.
  • St. Peter's house lays on the ground as archaeological findings and has octagonal shape church. Nice architecture.
