Wander through the remains of ancient monuments, temples and columns, damaged by a 749 CE earthquake that marked the city's demise. Drop by the 7,000-seat Roman amphitheatre to see one of the best examples of its kind in the country. • After a visit to the nearby Beth Alfa with the beautiful mosaic floors, this was a big surprise. Extensive excavations in a good condition. The map made clear that you imagined in Roman times, as it were. The amphitheatre, the bath house, the temple and the long main street with shops, great! And an hour before closing time we were the only visitors. Also very special.
