A World Heritage Site, Akko Old Town pulsates with centuries of history, opening up a window into the period of the Ottoman Empire and the Crusaders. An ancient town nestled around one of few natural harbors in Israel, the settlement has existed in some form for over 4,000 years, making it one go the oldest cities in the world. Discover the ancient mosques, 18th-century city walls, and an Ottoman citadel, built on the fortifications of a Knight Hospitaller underground complex. By the turquoise waters of the Haifa Bay, soak up some local history before stopping for a drink at one of the waterside cafes.
