Artifacts found at Waterford share their story at Waterford Treasures Medieval Museum. A costumed re-enactor leads you through the display galleries and infuses the experience with stories of battles and daily life. The Great Charter Roll of Waterford of 1373 holds a place of honor among the artifacts, as do gold medieval vestments that sparkle under the display lights. The attraction is connected to two other museums, so consider a combination ticket to save money on the ticket price of each. Guided tours take place every 45 minutes, and you are free to roam the museum yourself after the tour. Photography is allowed, but remember to turn off your flash. If you're hungry, stop by the on-site cafe. You can leave belongings and overcoats at the cloakroom. For travelers who use our world travel planner, Waterford holidays become easier to arrange, with trips to the Waterford Treasures Medieval Museum and other attractions mapped out and timetabled.

  • The history of the Vikings in Ireland comes alive in the museum. Taking the time to walk through the museum and see all of the exhibits was very interesting.

  • Better signage as the layout is quite disorientating. A map of the museum might help. Also, more exhibits and less plaster models of no historic value.

  • There are three main items, the mayor's wine cellar, the charter roll, and the medieval, ecclesiastical garments. Each has a floor dedicated to it and the exhibits are structured to aid you in appreciating them. It is well done and worth your time. I enjoyed the political history surrounding the charter roll.
  • This is a beautiful museum, and lots of interesting artifact's. Well promoted and laid out. Absolutely love the garments (very impressive), and the scroll 📜. Well worth a visit. Also, A new Tourist Information desk is here at the Museum. They can assist visitors with Information and Booklets on Travelling in Ireland.
  • Great historic exhibition /experience
  • Great museum, very accessible and close to the city centre. Super easy to book and pay online. Friendly staff, definitely worth the visit!
  • Come ready to spend the all day on the museums. All of them, no exception, were absolutely amazing. Come and visit if you like travelling to the past. Also, all staff are lovely people
