Richard Castles designed several famous homes and buildings throughout Ireland, including the Leinster House in Dublin. Visit this elegant Georgian palace, view its beautiful terraced gardens, and walk through its museum, which was added to the site in 2011 and holds art and artifacts from the 1700s to 1970. • This is one of the best small museums in Ireland. The free tour is excellent. A must for Irish Georgian furniture lovers.
  • Great porridge with fruit and cup of coffee while watching slideshow of old black and white photos of Waterford.
  • Lovely relaxed good coffee and scones just missing some cream to give a bit of finesse

Where to stay in Waterford

There aren't an overwhelming number of places to stay in the city center of Waterford, so consider looking into options in the surrounding neighborhoods. There are a few hotels, smaller lodgings, and a hostel in the heart of the city--the Norman quarter. However, as you venture outside the city center you'll find many traditional bed and breakfasts, cottage-style guesthouses, and family-owned accommodations. The city is easy to get around, so if you stay in a more commercial area, you will still be able to experience the magic of its medieval streets and fortifications.
