Create an itinerary including Banna Strand
Enjoy relaxation and recreation at Banna Strand, a long, sandy beach hugging Tralee Bay. Sand dunes run along the entire length of the beach, and there are plenty of activities to enjoy. Try your skills at kite surfing, paragliding, and boogie boarding, or if you prefer a more low-key approach, get out the fishing pole. The current from the Atlantic is not too strong and children can swim safely with supervision from on-site lifeguards. For a bit of history, look for the memorial honoring several men who attempted to land arms for Irish Republicans from a German vessel. To plan Tralee vacation without wasting time, ask Inspirock to design an itinerary.

  • I had cause to unexpectedly spend quite a bit of time in Tralee recently as a family member was in hospital there. This led me out to Banna which is the closest beach to Tralee… only about 20 minutes....  more

  • Wow, a beach paradise
  • What an amazing beach. We were lucky to have sunshine all day which made this 5 miles+ of sandy beach very special
  • My favourite beach in Co Kerry. There is 7 miles approx of beautiful sandy beach to walk and explore. Its backed by grass covered sand dunes, which have a trail running along them which is great if the tide is completely in and you still fancy a walk by the sea shore. It's a great beach to experience no matter what the weather is like. It looks as stunning on a wet day as it does on a sunny day. Great beach for surfing as well if the conditions are right. There is also surfboard & wetsuit hire during the summer month's for only a fiver. Icecream van there as well during the summer season.
  • Beautiful clean beach, with fantastic views. Loads of parking, never struggled to find a space even in the summer. Long stretch of beach so great place to go for a fairly long walk and swim in the ocean. They have outside showers to blast off the sand and toilet facilities - though the later is a little bit away from the main car park.
  • Just gorgeous! even when it is busy the beach is big enough to accommodate all. dog friendly
