  • Nice grounds and fine old stately house from the 1700s. The famine museum was good, if a bit small on exhibits. Excellent cafe with a great selection. Free coffee refill was nice too. A good stop off if in Roscommon.
  • This is a well restored house throughout and gives you a good idea of what life was like in the 18 and 1900s for a very well off family. Attached is a museum about the famine in Ireland which is extremely interesting and very well presented with video presentations and displays to explain why the potato blight had such serious repercussions for the Irish people
  • Great day lots to do and see, guide was very knowledgeable. Great place even just for a walk around the grounds Cafe was lovely lots of treats to try Well worth a visit if in area
  • Excellent museum about the famine & tour of the family house. Nice little coffee shop on the grounds. Gardens need a little bit of attention
  • The famine museum was informative and a timely reminder that famine still exists in other lands. The stories told were harrowing. Cannot say it was enjoyable, but it was educational and not to be missed. The tree walk on the other hand was beautiful even on a dank and drizzly day. We will keep returning as we now live close by.
