Went here today with my 23 year old son . Nicely presented exhibit . Very expensive though . 10 euro each admission. Viewed the entire thing in 20 mins . Realistic prices ,people , please !!!
It was a great experience. The staff members are great and know everything about what's in the museum probably because it's a collection turned into a museum! We road in the tank which was a lot of fun! There are other things being added for events. Great experience!
This very rural museum sits on high ground just like artillery spotters used to enjoy when using some of the lethal weaponry inside. If you want to see and hold items that were used in anger, the Irish Military War Museum must be on your bucket list.
Fantastic, fascinating collection of historic items and a gear tour. Loads for all the family to do
Great family day out, Our little boy loved every minute, we had a guided tour with Fergus who was brilliant at explaining the history of everything within the museum and about both World Wars. The second part of our tour included a tank ride was with William who could not have done more for us to make our sons experience better, the venue itself is really well planned out with a brilliant outdoor picnic & play area for kids to enjoy. I would highly recommend a visit here to anyone with military interest or are perhaps like me raising a possible soldier in the making, no doubt we will be repeat visitors.
A fantastic museum and an experience well worth the entrance fee. I would advise going in a group if you can, and definitely one of the most "hands-on" museums I have ever been to. I hope it has a prosperous future and gets the opportunity to grow. Don't be afraid to bring children along, as the playground and duck ponds should be enough to keep them entertained for a good while as well.
