Glencar Lake, Sligo

4.9
#2 of 11 in Nature in Sligo
The 8 km (5 mi) of Glencar Lake let you experience ample trails around the Irish countryside. Follow the short trail near the lake to the northeast corner, where you'll find a 15 m (49.2 ft) waterfall featured in some of William Butler Yeats' poetry. Fish for trout and salmon in the lake, and stop for a picnic at one of the many scenic spots. Wear suitable footwear if you're hiking up to the best viewpoints, as the wet conditions can make it quite slippery. Paths to the waterfall are wheelchair accessible. • This Lake must be related with the TripAdvisor "Glencar Waterfall" page. The road that runs along the Lake is beautiful and I advise you to do a time dry (yes I know, difficult in Ireland) to enjoy the beautiful light and the goshawks mountains. I put all similarly warn visitors: do not there just for the Lake, it would be the time lost, but enjoy to go and see the waterfalls at the end of the road!
