  • We were recommended by a local whose Airbnb we were staying. We weren't rushing home so said we'd visit. Sean the owner could not have been nicer. He was so entertaining and interesting. It certainly ...  more »
  • visited here a couple of days ago with a paranormal team and must say it was an amazing experience. The castle itself is so surreal. Sean and his wife were so nice and very welcoming when we arrived. ...  more »
  • We write to be by e-mail the day before and the next morning had answered us that there was no problem in visiting. We saw on the internet some documentaries about the Castle and haunted nature, what was useful, because in the same place there is nothing resembling a guide (it is a private residence). Best of the visit was its owner Sean. It was very cozy, opened us the doors of his house, and we chatted long time beside the fire, where we also shared local liquor and played the flute. It is a great character. "Haunted" Parties not you is accompanied, but only designates the road, which is almost as scary as the same destination (Bloody Chapel). Without a doubt, if you have time, worth stopping.

  • I have been looking forward to this visit since I began planning my trip to Ireland. It did not disappoint. Sean is a lovely host. Our hotel phoned ahead for us and Sean said to stop by the next day between 1000 and 500. He welcomed us in and we sat and spoke for a bit. He then directed us up to the bloody chapel. He gave us flashlights and we were on our own. The self guided tour was amazing and when we came back down Sean made sure we hadn't missed a thing. We then Sat for a while longer and Sean played a song for us. We chatted about his experiences at the castle and the history. I ended up buying a CD from Sean and provided my 6 euros, for the tour, plus some extra. Overall the experience was amazing. Sean is a great host and seems to enjoy the visits to his castle. I would highly recommend a stop here!
  • Sean Ryan, owner of Leap Castle, is incredible. He will chat with you by the fireplace and tell you all about the history of this castle and allow you to wonder about at your leisure. In addition, his knowledge of Irish culture and history will captivate you and make you want to chat with him for hours. If you're lucky, and we were, he will play a song or two for you! He's such a great musician! You don't want to miss the opportunity to visit Sean and Leap Castle! You will not be disappointed!
  • Very amazing castle. The Ryan's know everything about the history of the place and seem like very nice people in general. They ask 6€ for the tour but I gave more because it goes to help them with restoration. The whole place was absolutely wonderful.
  • Sean is awesome. Just go up and ring the bell and he’ll answer the door and welcome you in. Very intimate tour. This was one of the best castles we went to in Ireland!
  • Such a beautiful castle which is owned by Sean and his wife ann. They welcome visitors into the castle. Done a paranormal lockdown and it was amazing.
