Leap Castle Reviews
We were recommended by a local whose Airbnb we were staying. We weren't rushing home so said we'd visit. Sean the owner could not have been nicer. He was so entertaining and interesting. It certainly ... more »
visited here a couple of days ago with a paranormal team and must say it was an amazing experience. The castle itself is so surreal. Sean and his wife were so nice and very welcoming when we arrived. ... more »

We saw on the internet some documentaries about the Castle and haunted nature, what was useful, because in the same place there is nothing resembling a guide (it is a private residence). Best of the visit was its owner Sean. It was very cozy, opened us the doors of his house, and we chatted long time beside the fire, where we also shared local liquor and played the flute. It is a great character. "Haunted" Parties not you is accompanied, but only designates the road, which is almost as scary as the same destination (Bloody Chapel). Without a doubt, if you have time, worth stopping.
The owner Sean Ryan is a very nice and accommodating gentleman. Great storyteller.
You won't be disappointed by a visit here, if it's fireside storytelling with a dash of tin whistle playing you're looking for. Seán has history on the castle, the area, the families that lived there and more. The bloody chapel is a few flights up a twisty staircase. As it was such a beautiful day, I didn't find it eerie but would love to go back at Halloween. We loved our visit to this place with a welcoming host and some shy ghosts.
Definitely worth the trek out to find this castle. It's off the beaten track,up and down country roads. If you're into all things Paranormal, this place is for you.Was lucky to meet the owner of the property,Sean, who kindly let us tour the Castle and he told us stories of it's gruesome past. Be sure to book in advance with Sean if you're planning to visit as it's a privately owned property.
Thank you Sean for letting us in! It was one of the most magic experiences in our journey to Ireland, not because of ghost stories around your place, but for the delicious luck to know you and to enjoy your warm hospitality. You truly are "the presence" in there. To travelers: don't miss this step on your way...
The owner of the castle, Sean Ryan, is so kind and open to share the stories of this castle and how he managed to rebuild it over the years. We were lucky enough to hear him play the whistle 😊 Don't hesitate to come by and knock on the door for this amazing visit
