  • Roscommon is a nice little place, worth a visit. The Castle is on the edge of town and surprise surprise it is a ruin - but it is standing the test of time and hopefully continues to do so. It is set ...  more »
  • This site is definitely worth visiting. There is no roof and no guided tours. This is a place you can explore on your own. Very interesting architecture.
  • Went here to the park and to visit this castle. Its a really nice setting. Perfect for a small family day out on a nice day. The castle is free to go in and explore. There is a pond at the park where ...  more »

  • This is the kind of castle that we like to visit. It's a bit of a ruin, and on the day we were there, we pretty much had it to ourselves. When you are visiting the castle, keep in mind that the park side of it used to be a good-sized lake that has now been drained (if you zoom to the right scale on the satellite image, you can see the remains of the wetland). It makes imagining this fortified structure a lot more fun. With that in mind, there's not a lot of access to the individual rooms that are left (a much of the castle has been destroyed), but we had a great time poking around in the castle, and walking around the outside to get a nice view from the cow pasture.
  • Beautiful Irish castle, it's fecking huge.
  • One of oldest buildings in in Ireland still standing,a wonderful piece of history
  • Well maintained piece of the British history in Ireland on the edge of the town park
  • We enjoyed our visit there. Was impressed by the size and beauty of the castle and its surroundings. Would recommend visiting
