Beach
Kick off your shoes at Portmarnock Beach, a narrow beach with notably smooth sand and an active atmosphere. A path along the beach is a favorite for walkers, cyclers, and roller skaters. If you would rather be in the water, try your hand at wind or kite surfing. When the weather gets hot, look for the small shops with ice cream to soothe your cravings. Aviation buffs will appreciate that this was also the starting point for two important flights: one completed a trip around the world in 1930, and the other was the first to complete a solo trip around the world. • What can you say about portmarnock beach, but when the weather is good it beats Spain and Portugal any time. And today was one of those days. Blue skies, sunshine and just fantastic.  more »
  • Easy to get to, and a fun place to get a good look at the coast of Ireland. The tide was out, so we were able to walk out over a half of a mile. Very windy, but hey its Ireland.  more »
  • Favourite beach in Dublin. This is an amazing beach to visit. Fantastic sand dunes. It's a fav from my childhood. Definitely worth a visit at any time of the year.  more »
