  • The sign taking you to the Quiet Man bridge was down when we went, so you have to look for the "Connemara Cottages" sign on the left about 5 miles/8 km's north of Oughterard on R59, as you pass over t...  more »
  • It is a very pretty stone bridge in a remote area that is great for a photo, but there isn't anything else there.  more »

  • It's a nice tribute to the movie but hard to find. We were given 4 different ways to go before finding someone willing to get us the correct info. It has not been kept up, there is a picture & small bio of John Wayne off to the side but no highway signs. Good spot for pictures, nice surrounding area with the river, tress & mountains as background.
  • If you know The Quiet Man then you will be happy to see this bridge which appears in the film. We were lucky there was no one else about, which let us absorb the beautiful surrounding scenery. Worth a stop.
  • How is this even a sight to stop on the tour. There is nothing memorable, interesting or beautiful about it. Such a waste of time.
  • What can I say it's a bridge. Never saw the film. Lovely scenic surroundings.
  • Stopped off at this iconic tourist spot while on our way to Roundstone. The bridge has good parking just next to it. The view across the lake towards the Twelve Bens is awesome. There is a a plaque with a picture of John Wayne and and dialogue about the film 'The Quiet Man'.
