Visit an 18th-century country estate at Belvedere House Gardens & Park, known for its spectacular Rococo ceilings. Richard Castle, a famous Anglo-German architect (who designed several well-known structures throughout Ireland, including Dublin's Leinster House), built this home in 1740 as a hunting lodge. The building is beloved for its Diocletian windows, 19th-century terraced gardens, and Rococo plasterwork ceilings, which are considered to be some of the best in the country. Tour this historic home and walk through its lush gardens, or visit to attend one of the site's many events, such as music festivals and garden theater performances. • Great place to take children, expensive
  • Arrive with a group during the week found the receptionist not very welcoming Went to the house and thought it was not very interesting with the two audio playing. Upstairs was closed Place seems like it could do with a bit of a revamp Coffee shop friendly and good coffee
  • Hallowen 2014. Our family of 2 Adults and three children (age 13-10yrs) had to pay 26euros just to walk around the lake and gardens. We felt this was a very premium price to pay, for a family walk on a sunday afternoon.
