Garden Nature / Park
Visit an 18th-century country estate at Belvedere House Gardens & Park, known for its spectacular Rococo ceilings. Richard Castle, a famous Anglo-German architect (who designed several well-known structures throughout Ireland, including Dublin's Leinster House), built this home in 1740 as a hunting lodge. The building is beloved for its Diocletian windows, 19th-century terraced gardens, and Rococo plasterwork ceilings, which are considered to be some of the best in the country. Tour this historic home and walk through its lush gardens, or visit to attendĀ one of the site's many events, such as music festivals and garden theater performances. • The house and gardens were beautiful. I was surprised there was no guide on the walk around the house. The grounds and walk was beautiful. The coffee shop let it down. Staff not pleasant and food was cold.
  • Beautiful scenery nice and peaceful lake right beside it and beautiful restaurants / coffee shop
  • A lovely place to visit if in the Mullingar area. Great cake but a little bit on the expensive side.
  • Perfect place for family day out! Plenty to do for smallies and for grown ups!
  • Really like the time and energy put into the grounds around this house. Especially the children's book references such as the lion the witch and the waderobe. Those statues placed randomly through the woods were a nice touch
