In a county full of beautiful beaches this is my favourite one. You need to walk about 15 mins across farmland to reach the beach but it is definitely worth it. Make sure to check out the caves. more »

Beautiful beach, would not be out of place in Portugal, coves, views and rock climb. Hidden gem of donegal, well worth a visit. A couple of miles from Downings. Parking off season no problem, real issue on bank holidays or peak season. Accessibility is limited and crossing a field required to reach it.

One of the best beaches I have ever seen, stunning place. Bit of a walk from the road, took about 15 mins, parking was tight as there are only a few places along the road. The waves were spectacular but be careful as they can catch you unaware as the tide comes in quickly.

Beautiful spot. Bring footwear you don't mind getting mucky as the fields on the way out can be wet (especially after a lot of rain). As you're walking out aim for the gap between 2 hills to the left.

Great place to see but it's not sign posted so if you not been ask around for directions through the field mind the cows and their dung

Sadly this secret gem is no longer a secret. Don't go during the summer months or bank holiday weekends - you'll end up stuck bumper to bumper with other cars, as a road not designed for more than a tractor suddenly has to deal with two way heavy traffic. Parking is very, very limited on the verges where it 'widens' out Beach itself is beautiful, well worth the trip!
