  • Unfortunately closed for visitors when we arrived, but a great photo opportunity. The trees and nearby University made this stop a pleasant surprise.
  • Maynooth Castle can lead its origins back to the 12th century. The extremely massive ruins bear witness to the turbulent history of the town of Maynooth. The ruins, which immediately adjacent to the campus of the University, are still impressive, although only some parts are left from the actual Fort. Unfortunately, the system is closed at the moment, so that you can win just an impression from the outside. Nevertheless, the system appears well maintained and who is in Maynooth, should walk quietly the main street along, to see the remains of the powerful.

  • Free admission to the castle ruins. There is a little exibition with ALL the details to the castle, extremly interessting!
  • It is mostly what is left of a castle in a ruin state. You cannot always walk inside, explore from outside.
