Newmills Corn and Flax Mill, Letterkenny

#7 of 18 in Things to do in Letterkenny
The oldest surviving building here is said to be 400 years old. Indeed, the whole complex is an interesting reminder of a stage in the industrial development of this country which has now given way to a more sophisticated, but usually far less fascinating technology.

Came across this site on way to Glenveagh, how pleased we did! Gavin our guide was very pleasant and clearly well informed. The tour was fascinating and brought all the machinery and processes to life. Absolutely amazing, thank you Gavin. Eric and Linda Irwin, Lisburn.

Where to stay in Letterkenny

The favorite form of lodging in Letterkenny is the bed and breakfast, complete with hearty home-cooked meals. The very center of town can be quite noisy at night, so if this bothers you, consider staying a few minutes from the heart of Letterkenny. Most lodging options--which include guesthouses and hotels in addition to bed and breakfasts--lie within walking distance of the city center, so you won't be far from any sights. The real reason for stopping in this town is to see the rest of Donegal, so any basic accommodations will do as a jumping off point.
