  • 4 of us recently played Old Head 2 days in a row. As we were flying out of Cork airport the day after, we also stayed in the guest suites at the Club in lieu of heading into Kinsale. I've stayed in Ki...  more »
  • This golf course offers arguably some of the best views of the ocean Ireland has to offer. Nestled on a peninsula every golf hole has a view of the Atlantic. Majestic cliffs surround the course as wel...  more »
  • It is one of the finest golf courses in the world. We take full eyes on each hole. The beauty of the site is remarkable, the maintenance and the quality of the course are exceptional. No doubt, we of course are a monument of golf. The organization is at the top. The proshop to complete his equipment with a wide variety of products at reasonable prices. As for the view, you are at the club house on the course and even on the road that takes you, it's great entertainment. I forgot one detail, take a few bullets with you, it will always serve you especially if the wind is from the game... This golf course is an eater of bullets.

  • Outside of the popular season, if you have no children in your party, the gateman may let you through to visit the clubhouse café for lunch; it's not cheap though. On a sunny autumn or spring day, the terrace is lovely.
  • More scenic than Pebble Beach - 6 holes of sunshine - 6 holes of light rain - 6 holes of driving rain. Come prepared - it is a bucket list experience.
  • Environmentally destructive playground for the well heeled. The hoi polloi are kept out with razor wire.
  • Beautiful scenery. Pro-tip: even if you aren't a golfer, the clubhouse has a pub license, which means that they are legally required to let you in. Just tell the guard at the gate that you're going in for a pint at the clubhouse, and they can't refuse, even though all the signage tries to indicate that it is members only. From there, you can get some amazing views of the lighthouse and cliffs.
  • The place has been wonderful on both sides of head. Pls be warned that normal tourists are not allowed towards light head as its a private property which opens once in a year for public access. You have to be member of golf club for unrestricted restricted access.
