Where to stay in Killarney

Travelers visit Killarney for the national park surrounding it, and there are plenty of places to stay in town that capitalize on the natural beauty of the valley setting. Because of its popularity, Killarney has more hotel beds than any other town or city in Ireland other than Dublin. Stay at a hotel or hostel in the town's center near the bustling corner of Main Street and East Avenue Road, or find a place along the side streets off Main Street for easy access to tourist shops, local pubs, and restaurants. There are plenty of affordable bed and breakfasts or guesthouses just within walking distance from the center, or you can stay outside of town at a scenic farmhouse or luxurious resort.

  • Ladies View was kind of vague on the GPS, so I stopped here originally thinking this was Ladies View. So no, Molls Gap is it's own attraction, easily accessed to the side of the main road, and a nice ...  more »

  • We recently traveled here on our CIE Tour of Ireland. The views were amazing. You couldn't take a bad picture if you tried. I hope we can go there again someday. We loved it.  more »

  • Awesome place for a stop by. Gets pretty crowded when all the coaches which does the ring stops by. There's a cloths shop which sells at a high rate but the cafe is OK, there's nothing nearby anyway for miles. Has ample parking outside, just on Mols gap, you can walk around outside and gape at the the lovely scenery all around. We touched here twice, on the way from South to Gap of Dunloe and also on the drive on the Ring, both times great pit stops. The best was, the lady at the cash gave a book let "Gems of Kerry" which served us well the next 3 days as a guide, highly recommend it as its a short guide to all you can do here and its free. Great place to pick up a cuppa and stretch your legs too, we found the souvenir expensive, but then, hay, its a tourist spot. If you have a small car, DO NOT take the big road down, take the Gap Of Dunlo Road, experience in a life time!
  • Nice, clean and reasonably price cafe. The various scones were really tasty.
  • Great views. Nice coffee in a great location
  • Definitely worth stopping here for a coffee, treat and sitting out to take in the scenery.
  • Turns out that Avoca make and sell textiles and clothes which as stated in an old Stella Artois advert are reassuringly expensive. That's on the ground floor. The cafe upstairs also not cheap sells affordable food of imaculate quality where you would wish to eat everyday if you could. Tip drive on by and visit on your way back or on another day if a coach pulls in before you!
