  • Avoca has a great cafteria like lunch. You get to p;ick what you want and then find a seat. Their soups are delicious and the desserts are huge! Definitely worth a stop while traveling. The gift shop ...  more »
  • Good parking good views lots of our American friends paying lots for overpriced bags and clothes, but I suppose they know it.But the staff were nice.  more »
  • Take it a bit narrower, winding road to Killarney, you get to see the beautiful mountain pass Molls gap among the dizzying high mountains.

  • The cafe upstairs has good views if you can get a table. Tourist trap - coach loads of people get dropped off here. The cafe is hectic and the staff interacted very rudely with me as a result. We didn't stay because of this. The shop downstairs sells nice stuff but prices are ridiculous! Couldn't believe my eyes. Overall this place is a good stop if you're dying to pee (free parking and free toilets) but otherwise I would suggest enjoying the view from the car rather than the cramped cafe, then driving 15 mins to Killarney town and getting lunch from there instead. Loads more options in town.
  • Amazing views from upstairs cafe, staff very helpful and friendly, delicious food highly recommend for a stop off!!! Very welcoming to kids too!
  • Lovely picturesque setting, the gift shop is expensive but quality is top notch. Food is always good too.
  • Fantastic food and very welcoming to kids. Great views and certainly a place to stop off.
  • Tourist trap. Do you know when you see a pre-sale price (RRP) and think "who the heck pays that much pre-discount?" - this is basically a place that sells at RRP and you're surrounded by tourists paying the extortionate prices!

Where to stay in Killarney

Travelers visit Killarney for the national park surrounding it, and there are plenty of places to stay in town that capitalize on the natural beauty of the valley setting. Because of its popularity, Killarney has more hotel beds than any other town or city in Ireland other than Dublin. Stay at a hotel or hostel in the town's center near the bustling corner of Main Street and East Avenue Road, or find a place along the side streets off Main Street for easy access to tourist shops, local pubs, and restaurants. There are plenty of affordable bed and breakfasts or guesthouses just within walking distance from the center, or you can stay outside of town at a scenic farmhouse or luxurious resort.
