Stopped by for dinner on a Monday night and though the facilities were very pleasant the food was terrible. Ordered lamb shanks and both were as tough as old boot loaded with gristle. Probably a wonde...  more »

The Lackabane - course, a 9 hole course with a par of 36, provides for only 15 euro for 9 hole a very decent equivalent. The course is located on the other side of the road, has a very appealing design with only a water hazard on line 1. The condition of the fairways and Greens were appealing. While the two major venues in spite of the much more expensive green fees were crowded, we could play almost alone on the Lackabane course. Recommended.

Gets overlooked by visiting golfers because of its close proximity to more famous links courses, but warrants a visit by those who want to experience a truly great Irish parkland course.

Superb views! Excellent food in the club house as well.

Filthy glasses. Glass should be jet black. Tide marks from previous user and the same was evident on most glasses on nearby tables. Bar stacked with used food plates instead of taking them straight to the kitchen. Not the place it used to be.

Where to stay in Killarney

Travelers visit Killarney for the national park surrounding it, and there are plenty of places to stay in town that capitalize on the natural beauty of the valley setting. Because of its popularity, Killarney has more hotel beds than any other town or city in Ireland other than Dublin. Stay at a hotel or hostel in the town's center near the bustling corner of Main Street and East Avenue Road, or find a place along the side streets off Main Street for easy access to tourist shops, local pubs, and restaurants. There are plenty of affordable bed and breakfasts or guesthouses just within walking distance from the center, or you can stay outside of town at a scenic farmhouse or luxurious resort.
