Spire of Lloyd Reviews
This strange tower with a lighthouse lantern sits on top of a hill with a great view over the plains of Meath. It does open for public visits from time to time, but it was closed the day we visited. I... more »
I’ve visited this location two or three times, the scenery is beautiful and the location is ideal to bring the family out for a picnic on a sunny day. It’s a little sad though that the tower is never ... more »
As we were driving to our hotel in Kells came across this spire. It was cool to spend 30 minutes of time to view, take some pictures and learn about trying to take care of the poor. There is a little ... more »
It's only open very seldom.... but we got to go up. 😊 It's not for the very unfit (the climb) but great views when you get there. It is the only inland lighthouse in Ireland and one of very few in the world. The views from the bottom of the spire are nearly as good, so go even if you aren't able to get up to the top. Free entry.
Great place to go for walks and a picnic, the tower opens every bank holiday and is free great veiws from the top. Also has a playground for the kids.
Great site,I would love to have gone up the tower. I believe it's only open on bank holidays ,Opw ???
Lovely views from the tower, worth a look on one of the rare occasions its open
If you get the chance to go up, it's worth it for the views. It's basically an inland lighthouse that was used to watch the hunting on the nearby lands apparently, don't miss the free tours during heritage week in July. It's not open daily. There is a playground nearby which is ideal for families
