  • Visited spire on saturday and took some great photos. Very interesting place to see and look around. Worth a visit if in the area.
  • Worth a visit, playground and park around the tower. The tower is open on certain Sundays, not often.
  • What's not t like about a 'lighthouse' in the middle of nowhere?! Not that Kells is 'nowhere' I might add! As a child the Spire of Lloyd was always fascinating to me as we drove by on the N3 below it....  more »

  • Best place to chill out of a summer's day the perfect place for a family day out too! The only place in Ireland with an inland lighthouse. When the tower is open to the public, you can see five counties from the spectacular view up top! Playground facilities for children too.
  • Fantastic place to spend the afternoon with your family.
  • Great place to bring the dog and when the tower is open the view from the top is breath taking!
  • Open on bank holiday Mondays. Great views from top of Tower. Park and playground and connected to the blackwater walking trail
  • Best of Kells
